golden fields, high hills

On Sunday S & I went out to Sauvie Island & sat on bales of hay as a tractor pulled us through fields of corn & cabbage & tomatoes & peach trees towards massive shorn fields of pumpkins. We set off looking for the pumpkin that was just right for us, paid a dollar for our spoils, then ate a caramel apple in celebration.
We also walked in the pioneer orchards near the Bybee-Howell house, wishing we had a way to scoop up all the windfall fruit, but I ran out of film by then.

  1. That photo of you amonst the pumpkins is so awesome. Like if you were in a Wes Anderson movie that would be your introduction shot.
