The best & worst thing about shooting with (non-Polaroid) film is that you have to wait to see your results. It's impossible to share them instantaneously but, pleasantly, weeks after the experience is over you get to live it all anew.
The people you spend time with are easily the best part of any trip (the magic of being in town the same time Val & Jack were driving through on their RV trip around the US is undeniable!), but the most sharable part of my trip to NY was going upstate for the first time ever.
I got to take a train out of Grand Central (a tourist dream!), drive through the Catskills w/ Danniel & Tyler & Caitlin, meet Shawnee & his amazing gf Lydia, see a sky so black the milky way was visible, watch fireflies reflected in a pond while huddled around a huge bonfire, stay in an incredible house, eat strawberries & sweet peas I picked from the garden outside, feed donkeys, cool off in a swimming hole & listen to the sounds of the nighttime through the open windows surrounding our bed.
The second best thing is there are fewer pictures to go through -- I took 312 photos on my phone alone in the week I was in NY. Eep!
